Commissioner Ty Dillinger and his Destiny members, Joey Silvia and "Simply" Steve Greene, return to Burlington with both their singles titles after the "Street Fight Challenge" in Greensboro last week. Greene recaptured the Mid-Atlantic Television Title from Lee Valiant in an "Everything to Lose - Ty Dillinger Style" bout. While that match brought the TV Title back to Greene for a second time, it has also created more controversy between Dillinger's Destiny team and manager Brad Stutts' Fatback Enterprises. Stutts had claimed that his charge, "A Very Handsome Man" Mitch Connor won the match by pinning Mid-Atlantic Hwt. Champion, Joey Silvia. Stutts commented on the topic, stating, "I literally cannot believe that with THREE referees around ringside, we still got a raw deal. Every eyeball at AC Fitness last Saturday night saw Mitch Connor pin Joey Silvia on the floor for the entire duration of the three count that was happening in the ring. Dillinger's boys won but Destiny still hasn't beaten us at anything and we proved beyond a shadow of a doubt we can beat them. I've never been prouder of my guys. Mitch & Donnie both displayed complete willingness to do whatever it took to secure us a victory and in my eyes they did, period. So this Saturday night, if Commissioner Ty has any pride in his team at all, he will accept our challenge. I guarantee that a member of Fatback Enterprises will pin one of Ty Dillinger's two champions for the second straight week and if they've got the guts, I dare them to put one or both of their belts on the line. I don't think they have the guts, but even if they don't, I promise two things: Destiny will not be able to hide from us this Saturday. And Fatback will prevail. Bank on that." How will Commissioner Dillinger and his Destiny championship stable respond to Stutts? Will Dillinger grant Fatback Enterprise a shot at one or both of Destiny's titles? Or will Dillinger and Stutts have their own scrap to settle? Plus will the Neon Lions show up to confront both team again as they did in Greensboro? Word is that Lee Valiant was injured in the brutality of the Street Fight and may not be able to wrestle this week... but will that prevent him from seeking revenge on Destiny for taking the TV Title from him? Another confrontation that is sure to shock the Carolina Sports Arena is between Gemini Kid & Jesse Ortega and the AWA World Tag Team Champions, Ric Converse & Xsiris. Gemini had claimed his team was supposed to receive a title shot last week, thanks to AWA Vice President Jonnie Stewart, but Xsiris failed to show up due to a family emergency. Instead Converse faced Ortega in a singles match which saw Gemini and Ortega beat down Converse afterwards, demanding their title shot in Burlington "if the champions had the guts to show up this time." Once Converse recovered from the cowardly attack, he responded by saying the champions would indeed be in Burlington to face Gemini and Ortega. Can the only team to have ever each won the Weaver Cup add the AWA World Tag Team Titles to their list of accomplishments? Both men have been on a roll with very high profile wins. Gemini has openly stated that he has gotten rid of his rival Kamakazi Kid forever, after defeating him in the Prison Yard Match, and he's looking to move forward by claiming the World Tag Titles with partner Jesse Ortega. "Now that Kazi is gone, it's time to get back to winning championships. There's no two wrestlers here with a better track record than Jesse Ortega and myself. Converse and Xsiris can't hide behind Cross any longer. Like it or not, there will be new AWA World Tag Team Champions this Saturday night and I invite all the fans to witness history as we take what is rightfully ours," stated the Gemini Kid. In addition to this great action, the 2007 Johnny Weaver Cup Tournament will continue. Trent Wylde advanced last week into the second round. This week more first round bouts to determine who will face the first round bye participants which include all past winners (Gemini Kid, Jesse Ortega, & Corey Edsel) in addition to the reigning Mid-Atlantic Hwt. Champion, Joey Silvia. One person who will not win this year's tournament, Ric Converse, was originally entered as a pick by Johnny Weaver, but Commissioner Dillinger removed Converse from the tournament on grounds that he didn't deserve to be included. The winner of the tournament is presented the trophy cup by Johnny Weaver and also receives a Mid-Atlantic Hwt. Title match. Dillinger has declared that Converse will never receive a one-on-one shot at the belt as long as he's in charge and so far has made good on that claim, including preventing Converse from entering the Weaver Cup. All this and so much more featuring all your favorites including the Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Champions Rob "Boogie Woogie Man" McBride & Tank Lawson, Brass Munkey, Marcellus King, Michael McAllister, Sheik Lumpkin and many more!!!
