Tonight at CWF Mid Atlantic's Carolina Sports Arena in Burlington NC, I personally did something for the first time in my life. I walked out on an on-going show being ran by Virginia's Southern Atlantic Wrestling, a show where I was running sound and ring announcing. The late-starting show had one match and then an intermission. The second match ended with a vulgar tirade by a manager and was then topped by a wrestler in the ring. All on the house mic, all in plain view of small children. The words used were not suitable for any audience, much less a TELEVISION audience and I took it personally that ANYONE would step into the building I've helped make a family entertainment destination for the last six and a half years using that kind of language. Myself, along with my partner StatMark, made the decision to leave the show at about the same time, when I shut off the house mic and turned off the PA system. We gathered the camera equipment and my stuff and left the CSA with stunned-looking workers milling around the parking lot wondering what was going on. I did hear the SAW "television" announcer say he "thought" that there would be another intermission. I don't often bring this point to light, but I am a member of the CWF Mid Atlantic Board of Directors, as is my partner Grant Sawyer, and I want to apologize on behalf of everyone at CWF Mid Atlantic. We could think of no better way to show our displeasure at the proceedings than to leave the building we both feel to be such a precious possession in stunned silence as we gathered our equipment and exited. We apologize to all of the parents whose children were exposed to the mindless vulgarity, and want to reinforce the fact that this did not happen at a CWF Mid Atlantic event, but rather by those who rented the building, Southern Atlantic Wrestling. I can also assure you that my vote will be heard about allowing these people back in our facility for future "tv tapings." Once again, I am still feeling physically ill at what I witnessed tonight and I am so sorry about what transpired tonight in Burlington in front of a lot of our regular fans. I will promise that this issue will be addressed within the boardroom and may even involve the President of the AWA, William L. Cross, should CWF Commissioner Ty Dillinger try to interfere with the decision-making process. Randy "Randolph" Hedrick www.IndyInsiders.Com
