Rumors have been swirling for weeks as AWA President William L. Cross has stated to Commissioner Ty Dillinger that he wanted control of his company back. Dillinger and his gang, now unofficially known as the VIPs, literally stole the company in February at the War Games event. Since that time, Dillinger has proven that he is only out to protect the VIPs, and all other wrestlers now feel like they are all being mistreated by Dillinger's handling of the company. However there doesn't appear to be anything that Cross can do about it. Or can he? Cross has informed us that he will be in Burlington this Saturday night and has promised to shake the company to its foundation with what he has to say. Could this be the end of the "Dillinger reign?" Another big rumor that has many fans talking is the possible return of a CWF Mid-Atlantic star. Many fans have speculated about a surprise return to action... but who could it be? While rumors seem to be the main talk today, there are two huge matches signed that aren't just talk. The self-proclaimed and Ty Dillinger sanctioned AWA World Tag Team Champions, Gemini Kid & Jesse Ortega, will face one of the hottest tag teams in the territory today, The Neon Lions. The two team collided three weeks ago as Valiant was the substitute partner for Ric Converse. In a post-match melee as Gemini and Ortega were attacking Valiant, Collins came to the rescue clearing the ring. The following week in Asheboro, the teams came to blows again in a post-match confrontation that saw Collins and Valiant beat Gemini and Ortega all around ringside. This week however, the action will be inside the ring, as the two teams square off for the first time in tag team competition. Gemini Kid, never one to miss an opportunity to be quoted, gave us the following statement. "As the reigning AWA World Tag Team Champions, and make no mistake, we have the belts to prove it, Jesse and myself are looking forward to defending our prestigious championships this Saturday against what many call one of the best tag teams today. The fact is that the Neon Lions are over-rated, under-powered, and riding a high of their egos being blown up by the fans," noted the Gemini Kid. He continued, "However this Saturday we are going to pimp slap them back into reality. I am going to run them out of town, just like I did to the Kamakazi Kid, just like Xsiris now refuses to show up when I am around because he's scared of me, the Neon Lions will be the next to suffer at the hands of the 'King of Heat'." Gemini concluded by saying, "Jesse and myself will remain the AWA World Tag Team Champions for as long as we want, because there's no one man enough to take them from us. And it's surely not the Neon Lions, not Ric Converse and Xsiris, Boogie and Tank, or anyone else!" Adding to that brewing feud is the main event that Commissioner Ty Dillinger announced today. Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion Joey Silvia will defend his title against Xsiris. The surprising announcement was accompanied by a statement from Dillinger. "Joey Silvia is the greatest Mid-Atlantic Champion of all time. Forget Paul Jones and the rest of the old timers. And certainly forget Ric Converse. No one can beat Joey and no one will as long as I am the Commissioner here to keep things fair and equal," declared Ty Dillinger. "Joey has faced all the top competition across the Mid-Atlantic territory, and it's time someone here in the CWF gets a shot at his title, because quite frankly, he's beaten everyone, everywhere! So I picked Xsiris, the most underserving challenger I could find. In fact, he's so undeserving it's likely Joey won't even wrestle this Saturday night because Xsiris probably won't show up! But I wouldn't want to deny you fans of seeing the great Joey Silvia in action. So if Xsiris doesn't show up, which will be the case, I will give his shot to another wrestler much more deserving, like Nick Richards," the Commissioner stated. Two huge bouts already announced, plus the gigantic confrontation that President Cross has declared! All this and more including the 2007 Johnny Weaver Cup tournament has three more matches to determine the Final Four that will join Joey Silvia on August 25th. Who will advance this week? All your favorite stars will be in Burlington this Don't you dare miss it!!! Link: Still Makin' the Donuts! www.IndyInsiders.Com
