+++A Gathering For Gloria was planned as a benefit for the Forsyth Humane Society to honor the late Gloria Burcham, an avid wrestling fan who volunteered for them for twenty years. During intermission, Gloria's husband Steve Burcham asked for a little time and called East Coast Bodily Harm, manager Brad Stutts, the $outh$ide Playas J-Money & Will B. Smooth, "Mrs. Money", and annoucer Randy Hedrick to the ring. Burcham then began distributing some very special peices of his and his late wife's wrestling colletibles to those asked to join him in the ring. Chuck King was presented a chair from the WWE's King of the Ring from the Greensboro Coliseum in 1999 and thanks for teaching Gloria that it is sometimes ok to lose. King responded
with an emotional and straigh forward reply and thanks. Turning then to King's partner James Reno, Burcham handed him several autographed pieces. Reno, unable to speak, quietly thanked him as he moved to Brad Stutts. Bestowing more autographed items to Stutts, the outspoken manager spoke of what the fans mean to the sport. Then turning to the Playas, Burcham gave more of his collection to both J-Money and Smooth, and turned and gave a box of home-made items that Gloria had made to Mrs. Money. Burcham turned and removed a chain from his neck which had a couple of rings on it, which he said belonged in Gloria's family for generations and had been passed down over the years, and gave it to the shocked wife of J-Money. Burcham then turned to me, asking about my collection of autographed goodies and produced a WWE coffee mug, which is covered with 15 autographs of current and past WWE stars. Then something happened no one in the building had any inkling of...
Burcham asked for another long-time friend "Heart Throb" Alan Rage to come to the ring. Rage entered and climbed to the ring apron and Burcham asked if he could still get in touch with his former wife Angel Tearz, who was also very close to Gloria and unable to attend. He said he could get in touch with her easily and Burcham produced a canvas bag. Unzippering the bag, he pulled out a white cardboard box with no markings and handed it to Rage. Looking at it not knowing what to expect, Rage opened the box to discover inside
was another box labeled as the ashes of Gloria.
Steve Burcham, about to break down emotionally himself, only said "Gloria always wanted to go to a pow-wow with Angel Tearz. See that she does."
+++Aftermath: Corey Edsel suffered a seperated shoulder in his bout with Justin Feeche. Feeche didn't get out without a great deal of pain as he left the building with a broken bone in his foot from a kick during the match...Referee David Routh also demands that everyone now recognize him as the "Ageless Wonder" and "Living Legend"..."Jersey" Nick Richards with over 13 minutes with McBride, but his hair is still...no comment.
