CWF Mid-Atlantic returns to the Carolina Sports Arena in Burlington, NC this Saturday, December 20th, with a 7:30pm belltime. This is a huge event with a full card of action!
This is the year ending event, BattleCade IX, as CWF Mid-Atlantic celebrates it's anniversary with a HUGE night of title bouts and special guests!
The main event will be for the Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Championship as Ric Converse defends against the 2008 Johnny Weaver Cup Winner, Brass Munkey. Munkey has requested his guaranteed heavyweight title bout be at Battlecade, however the Aftermath is hoping to ruin "The Year of the Munkey."
At the contract signing two weeks ago, Converse broke the Weaver Cup over the head of Brass Munkey, spilling blood and leaving Munkey's status questionable. Munkey has vowed to get his revenge this Saturday night, when he steps into the biggest match of his career, his first ever shot at the Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Title!
While the fans are fully supportive of Brass Munkey and his incredible success he has had in 2008, winning the heavyweight crown from 5-Time Champion Ric Converse is going to be especially difficult this Saturday night. Converse is undefeated at all BattleCade events, and has never left the anniversary event without the Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Title. Add to this unbeaten streak that his manager is suspended commissioner William L. Cross, who will be at ringside, and the rest of Cross' Aftermath members in the building, the odds are high even for Brass Munkey.
Another huge title match will see four team battle for the Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Championship. The champions must defend the titles, however the real question is whether they can. Xsiris was injured two weeks ago by the Aftermath's Ryan O'Reilly, in an obvious attempt to make it easier for the Aftermath team to capture the tag titles. Xsiris has not been cleared by his doctor and if he is not before belltime, he will not be allowed into the match.
This would leave his champion partner, Mikael Yamaha, alone to face three other teams. Also in this four corners bout is the Aftermath entrants, Brad Stutts' Fatback Enterprises entrants, and the new team of Rob "Boogie Woogie Man" McBride & Roy Wilkins.
The Aftermath's manager, William L. Cross, has noted, "Yamaha would be best served to withdraw completely from this four corners match and surrender those tag titles to their rightful holders, the Aftermath. Let me make it clear to everyone, Battlecade IX will be the night that I take back the power in the CWF as the Aftermath will leave with EVERY title when the night is over. Then I will truly be in control of the CWF Mid-Atlantic again!"
Another huge grudge match with extra stakes involved will see Lee Valiant take on Jesse Ortega. These two have been feuding for most of the year between their "Destiny" and "VIP" stables, but this night they have declared it's one-on-one to settle their rivalry. The two will battle in a "Last Man Standing Match" with Lee Valiant putting up his guaranteed title bout he won at this year's CWF Rumble. A win by Ortega will not only settle the score, but garnish him a future title match he has been demanding for months, and one that he claims Valiant stole from him in the Rumble Match held in October.
The 2008 Rising Generation League Tournament finals will also conclude at Battlecade IX. The tournament was designed to give the younger wrestlers, with 3 years experience and under, a chance to prove themselves and capture a championship of their own. Last year's winner and reigning champion, Nick Richards, has advance to the finals again this year. He will face the "little goat" of Las Chivas familia, Chiva Kid. The high-flying masked goat has won the hearts of the fans, but the big question is can he win the RGL Title in this high profile match.
As if that is not enough, an added attraction has been announced as the women will be in action this Saturday night as well. From the MyNetworkTV hit reality program, "America's Top Model" Michelle will be in action against Amber O'Neal!
Another special guest from reality TV fame will also be in attendance. From the CBS reality show that started it all "Survivor", one of the most hated contestants ever, Jonny Fairplay!
The CWF anniversary event, "BattleCade IX", will feature all this and so much more!
Don't you dare miss it!!
