FROM THE DESK OF CWF COMMISSIONER MITCH CONNOR
I knew, and even publicly stated at May Day Mayhem, that when I took over as CWF Commissioner I would be forced to make some unpopular decisions. It goes with the job. Unfortunately, the first of those unpopular decisions has come very early in my tenure as commissioner.
Effective immediately, Kamakazi Kid has been suspended indefinitely from CWF Mid-Atlantic Wrestling. Again, I realize that this will not be a popular decision with the fans but when any CWF wrestler attacks the referees and communicates repeated threats toward our officials, action must be taken. I expect, and the PWI Board of Directors has assured me, that all other organizations under the PWI umbrella will follow suit and honor the suspension until the time comes that Kazi is deemed able to return to PWI-sanctioned competition. I hope that Kazi will use this time to sort through whatever rage issues he is experiencing and come back as the honorable champion we all have come to know him as.
Kazi's suspension opens up one very profitable spot for Absolute Justice IV on June 19th. It had been decided, and was to be announced on June 5th at the Sportatorium, that three challengers had been granted the opportunity to challenge Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion Steve Greene at Absolute Justice. One of those challengers was to be Kamakazi Kid but his spot in that main event bout is now up for grabs. To fill the vacancy, and decide who will join former Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champions Brass Munkey and Joey Silvia in that bout, June 5th will see the return of the Torneo Cibernetico. Two teams will be drafted in the elimination bout and the last man standing will be granted the last spot in the Heavyweight Championship bout at Absolute Justice. If one complete team is eliminated, the wrestlers on the remaining team must split up and wrestle each other until 1 sole survivor remains. That sole survivor will join Greene, Silvia and Munkey in the Absolute Justice main even t.
I'm pleased to announce that the first round of the 7th annual Johnny Weaver Cup tournament will kick off June 5th. I've stated many times that winning the 2007 Weaver Cup was the greatest honor of my professional career and I'm truly thrilled to be able to continue honoring Johnny's memory with another tournament this year.
Also, I will have an announcement on June 5th regarding the Television Title bout for Absolute Justice. "Coach" Gemini and Roy Wilkins insist that Arik Royal already cashed in his "one and only" title shot at Another Dimension back in April. However, a champion granting a challenger a title shot, even with the proclamation of it being their ONLY shot, does not necessarily constitute the challenger cashing in a guaranteed title shot. On June 5th I will call Gemini, Wilkins and Royal to the ring and give my official decision or whether or not the Royal will be allowed to cash in his title shot at Absolute Justice.
June 5th's "Summer Struggle" will be a huge, can't miss night of CWF Mid-Atlantic action. We hope to see all our of great loyal fans in attendance on June 5th for what will be a spectacular night as we head to Absolute Justice IV!
Sincerely,
Commissioner Mitch Connor
