Been away from bass for long time. (studying viola for music degree)I have a custom made Sting Ray w/rosewood and Fender nylon tape wounds, also a Fender P w/maple, currently has unknown round wounds. My deceased friend played slap, damage due to "popping" and side to side vibrato. (he was primarily a fretted player)1st, happy with tapewound on Stingray w/rosewood, how will they act on a Pbass w/maple? 2nd, what recommendations for damage from roundwounds on Pbass? 3rd, should I go with tapes on the P or flats? BTW, 1st time on the site, looks great, it's like coming home! Thanks for any input.
