
Posted by Dave Yes you can use wood filler in the gaps left by the frets, just fill it and sand it level with the fretboard once it's hardened. If the fretboard is rosewood you do need to coat it with something to stop the strings chewing the wood up. People seem to use epoxy a lot, I couldn't find any so used about 7 coats of Ronseal Diamond Hard polyurethene varnish on the jazz copy I defretted recently, and it's great. Even roundwound strings aren't marking it. --Previous Message--
