Epoxy and Applying, help!

All right,
I need some help with applying the epoxy to my fretboard. First of all, which is a good epoxy to go with? Any specific brands? I'm just looking for the cheapest that will work, as the bass I'm using is an inexpensive Squire since this is my first try. Next, how should I go about applying it? I'm familiar with the use of epoxies and such, as I worked at a boat repair marine where we used mainly fiberglass, resin and epoxy to repair damage. Any type of brush or sponge that would work best? How many coats? Any other tips? I'm just looking to finish this off, got the frets out and the wood filler in. Thank you!
