I have a similar question to the one below about novices choosing fretless. I am primarily a keyboard player but have always loved the fretless sound and feel like treating myself to a bass (just for fun) to see how I get on with the playing side of things. My favourite player is Mick Karn - I dont have the budget for a Wal bass(!) but would welcome any advice on where to start/makes/sounds etc. I have a budget of up to Ł400.
