sorry i didn't mean to sound short, it's just thst i dont think a true fretless sound can be achieved on a fretted instrument, there are however a few effects out there that try to mimic a fretless, some of the zoom boxes spring to mind. these are ok but i doubt they'd fool many bass players. just my opinion of course.
