If you like a very bright round wound sound,Yamaha bass strings (H 4030 for 4 string) are the very best strings I have ever run my fingers down. They are forever bright and bouncey, and they stay that way at least twice as long as anything else I have ever used. The only negative is, they are pretty rough on the fingerboard (and your fingers). I used rotosounds for 14 years before I came up on the Yamahas. No contest.
