Posted by James Dennis Playing with out frets is new, but I love the "singing voice" sound!!! My guess is that I've been a closet bass player all these years. But, I'm out now!!!! I'm even seriously considering getting rid of my guitars (ugh!!!!)!!!! Just wanted to say "hi" and let you know I'm here.

I have been a guitar player for 30 years. In highschool, I played bass in some punk bands. I was sort of a Dee Dee Ramone type player. Anyway, in the past few months, I noticed that I was mainly playing bass lines on the guitar, so I got a elcheapo bass on eBay. A passion started!!!! Last weekend I got a Yamaha RBX200F, which I know is cheap, but the neck feels GREAT and the whole thing sits comfortably when I play. Eventually, I'll upgrade it's electronics. It had round wounds on it, but I put flats on yesterday. My years on guitar has given me lots-o-fretboard knowledge, so I'm already jamming along. By the way, no, I don't play like Dee Dee anymore. I have a much more melodic style. Sure, I need time to learn techniques, etc. Mainly, I'm playing guitar on the bass, while I learn. Lots of Hendrix parts, etc. FUN FUN FUN!!!
