hope everyone enjoyed the bbbq the other night. don't think anything was left behind (except for some pizza boxes...NAAAAAAAAAAAAASH!!!!). otherwise, to those that came, hope you had fun.
on the subject of cooking (as it came up often)...the main reasons i always have done the cooking at (most every) function are (1) because i want it done right (or at least a certain way that i find personally satisfactory) (2) i enjoy it. i enjoy cooking for people and i don't mind giving the first half of any party, gathering, or box social to provide everyone with (what i hope is) good food while you all have a good time. i enjoy it when others are happy (and it's also what a good host should do). so if i have to sacrifice some leisure time to cook (which i love) and make people happy (which i love), so be it. now, could i do without constant "is it ready"s and "f.ucking christ, hurry up, i'm HUNGRY!"s? yes, but that's also part of being the cook so i accept it. so please, don't fret about me or wonder why it's always me in that position. it's my role and i accept it and enjoy it...except when i burn the okra (god, what a mess, sorry!).
NOW...OTHER STUFF!
-BIG 4th of july/mj birthday party...gonna be anytime after 4:00 pm...swimming and washers during day, food will be ready around 6:30 (fish, dogs, brats, veggies, non-burned okra, etc), followed by more swimming and washers, and culminating in a possibly illegal fireworks display at 10:30. this will probably be the biggest deutsch partei of the summer so you really should be there.

more details on those as they get closer but, hey, we're finally playing some places where you can drink.
