i'm with you on wallace, but if the cards thought he was going to be the third baseman of the future, i think they keep him... luckily, we have freese/craig/mather all possibilities to step up next year. everyone EXCEPT the cardinals have been saying wallace projects to be a 1B or DH; and 1B is most certainly taken.
pujols is not going anywhere. this sends a huge message that we're trying to win with him right now. everybody knows what would happen if pujols left... st. louis would burn to the ground.
with that said, yeah, let's hope mcgwire (and us) can convince holliday to stay.
