Pretty good article. I wish it would have mentioned more about the M-1 deal. M-1 wanted something like 1/2 of UFC's profits for the duration of Fedor's contract to put him in the UFC. Maybe not those terms exactly, but equally as ridiculous.
There's no question that Dana is an ingenious business man and is always properly weighing one wallet against the other. The man and his associates at Zuffa rake it in. That's what his feud with Tito was all about - paying fighters more, basically.
Who knows when Dana will finally decide that giving fans what they want is more profitable than dropping a relevant amount of money on Fedor and whatever silly terms he demands. It has to happen eventually though. Even a business man like Dana can't let Fedor get through all his prime-of-his-life fights without some of them being billed on UFC posters.
I wish they would hurry up and make it happen, god dammit.
Did you know when Couture left the UFC again the 2nd time, it was because there was basically no one left for him to fight? We would have had Randy Couture vs. Fedor Emelianenko for the UFC heavyweight championship. ####.
That's selfish though. Fedor and Co. have their reasons I'm sure and we can only speculate on the details on what goes on between them and the UFC.
