1) RISP...if you can't bring runners in, why bother getting on base?
2) i don't know where the hell the dodgers got that bullpen (or even the starters...padilla who?!?), but the cards could take a lesson from them, a lesson in how to get the shit kicked out of you by unknown middle relievers.
3) i don't blame holliday for singled-handedly losing game 2, but i so badly want to (and two team errors to the dodgers none over the series).
4) even had torre pitched to pujols, i don't think he would have done anything. he and holliday been ice cold for a month. un-clutch.

6) i have said this for nearly ever and this series was a perfect example: busch fans are some of the most placid, boring fans to see. old, white, expressionless people sitting in silence. no fire, no life, no character. at dodger stadium? towel waving wildmen, sassy latinas in dodger blue, old people that don't act (or even look) old. we have the most thoroughly bland, midwestern-ish fans (knowledge of the game be damned) and it is no wonder everybody wants to watch sox-yanks games. if the game ain't exciting, at least the fans will be. god, we looked so sad.
7) and how fitting of an end: ankiel striking out on a high fastball.
here's to embarrassment and here's to choking. big time.
and yes, i'm extra pissed because yours truly had a ticket to the f.ucking NLCS. nothing gold can stay.
