it sounds like a hardware issue (the fan) rather than anything that the operating system would fix, but or course im just guessing hear. my suggestion is to get a new $500 job with win7 and scrap the old one after transferring whatever u want over-- also, idk anything about home or professional or whatever, im sure it doesnt reallii matter.
