well, i (and others) had explored the possibility that it actually was the fan and it was actually overheating. but it's a relatively new unit that never had problems before i moved here and we even took the side panel off so there's no way heat could become trapped in there. that's why i think it's something in the system that's causing it to shut down. i suppose another possibility could be a bad power supply, but again, i don't know much about that (zach, thoughts?).
