Sister stations in the company are using the classic ac technique as a means of lowering the average listener age. Oldies formats draw an average age of 50-52, and the new approach lowers that to 39-41 by advancing the station's average musical era by about 8-10 years. Instead of a center of 1972, the center is more like 1980.
