i'm not sure who will get this message but here goes. i had never heard of bruce cockburn until yesterday. i did hear one of his songs though, about 4 yrs. ago. i was driving down coast hwy from monterey,ca about 5 am listening to the radio. i was in kindof a fog of being depressed, hungover, and disappointed, and yeah, kinda sleepy. suddenly bruce starts on soul of a man by blind willie johnson. the impact was as powerful as if i had lightning strike inches from me. this song and the haunting reverential style suddenly cut through all the crap in my soul, leaving me refreshingly stunned, restoring me as if displacing somehow all the misery and setting me up for whatever was up ahead. i only heard that song and its singer one time. then yesterday morning i suddenly got the urge to look it up on the internet. i'm glad i did. i'd love to hear it again and possibly learn the song for myself. i dont know how to get in touch with bruce but just wanted to let him know how much hearing that song on that lonely road meant to me. i'd sure appreciate if you'd just pass along my appreciation to bruce. thank you sincerely, daniel
