Very much looking forward to your Sept. 8, 2011 show at Variety Playhouse in Atlanta. It will coincide with a rare date night for my wife and myself! In addition, this will also be a partial celebration of our 5 year anniversary. I turned her on to your music about 5 years ago, and we have some wonderful memories of driving through Chattanooga, TN listening to Breakfast in New Orleans, Dinner in Timbuktu ("Last Night of the World" and "Isn't That What Friends Are For" are sort of theme songs for our early days together.)
Last time I saw you in Atlanta was around 1980 at a place called Rumors, near Emory University. As rabid fans of your music, my friend Elden and I waited for your tour bus to arrive early in the day and then posed as college newspaper writers to get a chance to speak with you. We couldn't go through with the deception, however, and fessed up before the interview ended. You laughed it off and made us help unload your bus as punishment. What a great memory and an even better show. Look forward to Thursday night!
