The Elephant Man isn't all that light. And Threepenny has a happy ending -- remember the final lines: "Story's over, nice and tidy, here's a rule I learned in school. Get your money every Friday, happy endings, that's the rule. So divide up those in darkness from the one's who walk in light. Light 'em up, boys, there's you candle, drive the shadows out of sight."
