Auditions will be held for the Hoogland Center for the Arts/ADHD Production of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW on Saturday, July 18 & Sunday, July 19 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoogland Center for the Art. Callbacks will be held on Sunday, July 19 immediately after auditions. Show Dates: Oct. 23, 24, 25 and Oct. 30, 31.
Dance/Voice Auditions: Folks will be auditioning in blocks of 10-15 per hour and should prepare a 60-120 second vocal audition that highlights their ability to sing this type of music (rock/rock-n-roll specifically). Participants need not sing a song specifically from RHS, but may if they wish. At the conclusion of the audition, participants will demonstrate their movement/dance abilities. PARTS AVAILABLE:
Frank-n-Furter: Frank is a devious and flamboyant, hedonist transvestite, pansexual scientist. (Baritone)
Janet Weiss: A heroine. Sweet and somewhat naive. Janet recently became engaged to Brad, and finds herself tempted. (Belt)
Brad Majors: A hero. The clean-cut fiancé of Janet Weiss. Awkward and out of step, he finds himself in situations never before experienced. (Tenor)
Riff-Raff: A handyman. Frank's minion/butler and Magenta's brother. (Tenor)
Magenta: A domestic. Magenta, the sister of Riff-Raff, is Frank's maid. (Mezzo)
Columbia: A groupie. Columbia is the groupie, friend and self-proclaimed lover of Frank, but also formerly involved with Eddie. (Mezzo)
Dr. Everett Scott: A rival scientist. He was Brad and Janet's high school science teacher. He has come to the castle in search of his nephew Eddie, who has been murdered by Frank. Can double as Eddie. (Tenor)
Rocky Horror: A creation. Muscle-bound creation of Frank's. Rocky is mute except for his musical numbers. (Tenor)
The Narrator: An expert. The show's narrator. (Baritone)
Eddie: An ex-delivery boy and Columbia's former boyfriend, provided cerebral material for Rocky. Can double as Dr. Scott. (Tenor)
Phantoms/Transylvanians: Ensemble roles integral to show. (female & male, any voice range)
Responses:
