Once again, Mackey proves he neither gets nor appreciates musical theatre. In comments in print and on his segments with Karl on WUIS Mackey drips disgust with the genre. Now he attempts to equate PRODUCERS over-the-top silliness with outdated movie stereotypes. It is a reach to make this comparison, hardly worthy of a column. But more importantly, Mackey repeatedly shows he has scant qualifications to provide critique of musical theatre. Bring back Maggie Boswell. She knows theatre. He only knows what he likes. And that isn't enough.
