I agree w/ everything that was said...somewhat. But I also remember that when All in the Family was originally being broadcast it was discovered that a large segment of the audience loved the show because they AGREED w/ Archie, not because they found the satire funny. My problem w/ The Producers making it gay is that, while it is an equal opportunity offender, the others that are subject of jokes are not still fighting for equality while gays still are. There is still a large segment of the population who will not recognize the satire and accept the presentations as less cartoon and more reinforcement of existing stereotype. As absurd as that sounds, consider all the "gay-hate" one hears.
