I could not agree more. However, this does not give licenses for viciousness. To make clever-but-vicious remarks (eg: "The curtain went up at 8:00 p.m. and two hours later, I looked at my watch and saw that it was 8:15!"). This sort of sarcasm has now place in reviewing community theatre. It can barely be accepted in reviewing professional theatre.
