Dear All,
The club has respected the decision of 1st Team Manager Phil Kyle to leave the club and have accepted his resignation. The whole club owes a debt of gratitude to Phil for his hard work, tireless enthusiasm, success in bringing silverware to the club and contribution to strengthening the foundations of the club. Phil leaves with our best wishes and we sincerely hope to keep in contact with a true green and black great. We all have an opportunity to continue to build on the club's recent achievements on and off and pitch for the remainder of the season and beyond.
Matthew (Lawsy) Laws has also stepped down as Chairman and we also take this opportunity to thank him for his input into the running of the club (and some sublime freekicks as the lads in the Reserves can testify to).
As an interim arrangement Danny Sherwood will be taking the reigns of the 1st team for the remainder of the season. Danny will be supported by Paddy and Martin Pollard, both of whom I'm delighted to say will be taking a more active role in the running of the club, as well as Webby, Mercer and Trigger. Danny's playing record speaks for itself and I'm sure he has the whole club's support in ensuring the remainder of the season is both enjoyable and successful for the 1st team squad. Martin will also take the reigns as interim Chairman until Committee roles can be agreed at the next club AGM.
Further details on the arrangements for the 2009/10 season will be provided in due course as will the feedback on the recent proposals circulated to all players.
Whilst I appreciate that change can be unsettling I'm confident that we can strengthen the club further and ensure that every member of the club continues to enjoy their football at whatever level.
