After a discussion with several people the club has decided to put an extra nights training in over the coming weeks. The session will take place at George Stephenson High School in Killingworth, on Tuesday (3rd March) from 7.30 to 8.30pm.
We've hired an indoor gym for an hour to do some fitness work. The reason for doing this is to try and get fitness levels back again before the fixture mayhem begins in April. Due to the lack of football everyone has played I think you'll agree fitness levels have suffered. It will also give players who are unable to train on Thursdays due to work/family committments the chance to get a good workout done.
Training will continue take place on Thursdays as normal. By having two training sessions every week, all the club is trying to do is give everyone the opportunity, to get prepared for the vast number of fixtures still to play this season. All club members are welcome to attend on Tuesday, not just 1st and reserve team players.
To get to George Stephenson H.S (NE12 6SA) in Killingworth you can type it into google maps (It comes up as point B). Rough directions from Newcastle are:
1) Continue out of Newcastle on Benton Road with Four Lane Ends Metro station on your right. Think its the A188.
2) Continue for 1.5 miles to big r/about where Findus Factory is (on left).
3) Take right turn at this r/about into Westmoor and continue to another mini r/about.
4) Turn right here and go through ped. crossing to another r/about.
5) Turn left here. Straight on at next r/about and continue past Killingworth Lakes and the Lakeside Leisure Centre.
6) At next big r/about turn right and straight over next small r/about.
7) Entrance to school on right. Follow road all the way to the end (through green gates), past the main block of the school. PE dept at very bottom of the road.
Any issues finding it let me know - 07867 884422.
Session will only cost people £2/3 depending on numbers.
Hope all that makes sense.
