Henrietta, With this being my third BBS (with about a 5 year lapse in between my last BBS), I think your assessment is very reflective of my first BBS experience in 2002, and even my second in 2003 (I brought my 12 year old daughter with me on this one). I returned this year in 2008, and once again, the experience was awesome. My first two years were as a single person, and by my third (2008), I had the opportunity to bring my husband with me, and he was truly in awe over the whole experience...so much so that we are on board for the 2009 experience, once again. I've come to the conclusion that this trip is more than just about the experience...it's about the commaraderie, the relationships you build, the love of the open waters, the love of being apart of something so uplifiting and postive for the African American community, and lastly, the opportunity to show our children that "We/They Can Too! So let's keep talking about it! Let's keep talking about it!
