Posted by Kaye Even still--I do regular exercise--try to do something for 30 min each day--either treadmill or exercycle--even with the swelling. I feel so much better afterwards. I also hope to do the Susan G. Komen 60 mile 3 day breast cancer walk for the 4th time. The first time I signed up--thought I was nuts--there was no way I could do it. Interestingly, the swelling almost disappears after I walk that much--at least for a short while. Last year I was one of the last 3 to make it back on the first day--very sore w/blisters -- but persevered--and the horrific spine / back pain I was having went away for 3 weeks. Two months later it went away again after a virtual colonoscopy (could it have been the prep for it) or after I had a 'real' Zometa infusion (wonder if I was getting the 'real' stuff--another story). Then again, my aunt had passed away the day before the pain went away (divine intervention???). Who knows? I just wanted to add that I think I am still around because I have done this exercise, even with the difficulties. I am not sure how many more walks I can do--almost dread preparing for the next--but think it may be something I just gotta do...

Hi--I also have horrible lymphedema in my lower legs. That started about 4 or 5 yrs before I was dx'd with b.c. They do get much smaller after I have been in bed for the night. I wish my lymphedema arm went down in size like my legs do.
