My surgery is Wed. 4/23 so yesterday I met with a nurse as part of the pre-op program. I was stunned by the lymphedema cautions: Electric razor, no insect bites, cuts, scratches, blood pressure taking, hangnails - forever! And my cancer is on the right side and I am right handed. It seems as though I'm going to have to spend the rest of my life sheltering my right hand and arm. Is this true? How careful are people?
