Hi Jo, Yes this can happen with traveling. I have to wear a sleeve and a hand glove when traveling. Your doctor can advise you on what to get. I needed a perscription for the glove but not for the arm sleeve. I would suggest getting both for travel. I did have problems the first time i traveled and would never want to have to go through that again. Hope this helps.
