Sorry, see post on main board, I gave more details. Basicly, I only had three nodes removed, but because I am high risk and also am at high risk for many complications of lymphedema should it come up that they are now going to treat me as if I have it already. They fit me for a temporary compression sleeve and will fit me for a sleeve, glove and finger gloves (more difficult to do because of my small size) soon--there is a fitter that comes once/month from Charleston (I'm in the middle of nowhere). The exercises I got from the surgeon were not working (as I suspected) because instead of having a locked shoulder (normal to happen), I had a locked elbow and was unable to extend the arm (still can't all the way). The compression sleeve plus first hour of OT has made it possible to start to extend the arm a little bit from the elbow. It will take about a month probably to unlock, then we will work on the shoulder and those exercises. In 3-4 months I may be able to start adding 1 lb of weights--I will never get to the 5 lb weight limit because I was not at that prior to the surgery. Hope this clarifies, sorry to throw you off. Sometimes I forget where I post what. Still a bit foggy from the surgery I guess.
