thanks Cassie--darn! Still needing pain relief and still can't do ice and still can't take meds--pulling on this as last straw!
My therapist gave me a new article just released that seems to have good control methods, double-blind study, forget name, will have to look it up again. If I remember correctly had small # of participants, but they're looking to replicate the study now. She's all in favor of it for people like me who will never be able to use medications to bring down inflammation.
My pain specialist started using an IR lamp on both arms w/ me two weeks ago and while I have not noticed a difference in my lymphedema arm, my other one where I have the broken hand DOES have less swelling and is much less painful during and right after treatment. Both Dr.'s say that the IR lamp and this laser work in similar ways and both are in favor of me continuing the treatment since there are no other options that we know of.
My oncologist sent me to both this lymphedema specialist as well as this pain specialist.
I'm not doubting you, I'm just out of options.
I emailed my onc and pcp back home for input, but haven't heard back yet
Heading off to look at the site you posted!
Thanks again!
