yes, heat over body temperature, but this is not.
Also, the frequency of IR has a range, just like all light does. The laser treatment uses a frequency that works on the cellular level (that's why it works as an anti-inflammatory)to stimulate movement.
Also, for those who sweat, you don't want that under a compression garment, but since I have the "luxury" of overheating w/o sweating due to my disAb. the risk of moist, heat, dark--fungal infection is much less w/ me.
This treatment is commonplace w/ those w/ skin breakdown, other than those who have diabetes related sores, to bring down inflammation and to move fluid out of the affected area. It is also similar to using heated gloves for those w/ Reynaud's and arthritis.
I'm turning up a few studies from overseas that seem pretty viable, all be it with few participants.
My therapist is putting me in touch w/ the LE therapy trainers w/ the National Lymphedema Network who have experience w/ the treatment so I can do some phone consultations w/ them and begin really understanding the politics of what is up.
