Thanks for writing back so quickly. I needed to have the carpal tunnel released on both of my hands two years ago before I was dx w/ cancer. I just hadn't gotten around to doing it. I knew if I had the hand surgery, I had a strong chance of getting lymphedema. I don't regret the surgery. My right hand had gotten so bad I couldn't sleep through the night without waking up 5 or 6 times. (I've already gone through all of the braces, steroids, shots, etc.) I guess I've learned the hard way to not put things off. Oh, well. My mastectomy and node removal was on the same side as my hand surgery.
My therapist is trying to get the swelling down as far as possible before ordering the compression sleeve, gauntlet, glove, or whatever. I'm really at a loss here. I don't know anything about this.
