Hey all,
Tried putting 2nd sleeve over first for added compression per LE therapist's instructions--now between 4-16grad (prob. closer to 4, doubt over 10)--within a minute left hand started hurting (no redness, purpleness, or even immediate swelling, just pain--pure pain
W/in 15 mins. had normal colour, but noticeable swelling in left hand and fingers
W/in 1 hr--fingers, hand, arm on left all painful and swollen and oddly enough pain and swelling in right hand and fingers as well.
LE therapist told to take off after 2 hrs, was aware all along w/ regular reporting in--encouraged me to keep it on--tore it off in fit of tears at the 2 1/2 hr. marker after she finally said yes.
had arms elevated ever since and not doin' much--kept the single sleeve on both arms per her instructions. Swelling down a little, but still VERY painful.
How the **** am I ever going to do things like open my fridge door or hold a book let alone kayak across a lake! I won't even be able to fly w/o much more compression than I can handle now!!!
I see her tomorrow to undo the deliberate damage we did today.
BC sucks, but LE sucks worse!!!
