Hi, Sheryl
Is there a particular reason why your therapist is doing your treatments twice weekly, like skin reactions or something?
We are all different, but treatment protocol is based on aspects of the physiology of the lymph system, which doesn't vary. Twice a week massage may (or may not) maintain edema loss, but it's not effective at reducing it in a controled way. The protocol is four to five days a week in order to "build" new functioning into the lymph system.
You might want to ask your therapist why she (or he) has altered the protocol for you. Sometimes patient load is a factor, so therapists set it up this way, but that's not what the lymphedema calls for. Unless there's a reason why you as an individual can't tolerate more frequent therapy, you should expect a treatment schedule that makes sense to the physiology of the lymph system.
Worth looking into, anyway!
Hugs!
Cassie
