I had Reclast on July 30 of this year. Reclast is an annual infusion (takes about 45 minutes) for osteoporosis. It didn't cause any problems for my lymphedema arm. I actually had no side-effects other than being tired for a few days. However, common side effects are flu like symptoms (fever and and muscle pain) that can last for varying amounts of time depending on the individual. I received the Reclast at my oncologist's office. She advised me to drink 9 glasses of water before I arrived, which I did; also, I was advised to drink at least a quart of water after the infusion. Earlier this month (October) I had cellulitis in my lymphedema arm but I don't think it was related to the Reclast because it was several months later. If anyone thinks it was, please post about it. Also, Reclast has one side effect that I was worried about but haven't experience yet -- it can cause in a small percentage of patients major jaw bone problems. The only reason I took Reclast was that Fosamax and Boniva gave me severe acid reflux after 3 years of use. I took Nexium for it but it only got worse, so my onc suggested Reclast. It's expensive and I had to wait for my insurance company to approve it. At first they denied it; my onc responded and then they approved it. I still had to cover the co-pay.
