On July 1st, I was at an auction of antique cars and other collectabiles. There was 14 cars on the block. They all belong to one guy, a retiring carrot farmer. This was in Canada just north of Toronto, Ontario. A 32 Ford roadster sold for just under 50,000. A 1929 Roadster pickup for 33,000. All the others were priced in that range. A very notble exception was a 56 Ford pickup which sold for 45,000, a 81 Z28, just a driver , for 14,000 and a 58 Biscayne , 4 door , six , auto with lots of trunk work needed sold for 8,900.00. Except for the 81 and 56 and the 58, they where all 1920s and 30s cars. The 81 and the 58 had not been restored , but the others had, probably 20 years ago and then just put away. I think the crowd , which was about 2500 hundred people was out of control. I guess the economy is still strong, at least in that part of the country. Anyway I was quite shocked at the prices. No SS427 cars, and not much to do with the club but I felt I had to share. Morley
