I actually picked one of these up from Greenlight because it's Grotto Blue (or close to it) like my car, and I had to have it.
I remember the car you're talking about, and I don't think this car was modeled after that. The level of detail is great on this car for a 1/64 scale model, with all the correct photo-etched emblems in the right places, and even a nicely detailed chrome Z24 Hood Insert. The only thing really incorrect are the chrome gills, but that's always seemed to be a matter of owner preference with `68's anyway. The gills are also photo-etched, but looking at them with a magnifying glass (my eyes aren't what they used to be), they do appear to be pointed in the right direction, although they lack the black painted insert detail.
Overall, I'd recommend this one for any `68 fan. (Especially if you own a blue one!)
