Bill - I am only in WI until the 20th, so not sure which show, if any, would be next. I am considering flying back for the Jefferson fall show as the feature cars are Impalas. But that show, in my humble opinion, has really deteriorated over the years.
Glad to hear you sold the car; if it were not for the fact that I already have 2 '69s, I would have seriously been interested in your car.
When I was checking out the '69 Butternut Yellow 4 speed sport coupe in the corral I was getting "briefed" by a couple of guys on exactly what to look for in a "real" '69 SS. It was their consensus that the car was fake. I just let them ramble on. The car DID have a few incorrect items (Hurst shifter, no "Impala" badge on the front fenders, and the "ss" emblems horribly mis-aligned) but I got a look at the POP and it indicated the car was the real deal. The car also had smog equipment and it looked like it had never been off the car. Being the car was a Janesville car with smog, that was a big clue that it was an original 4 speed car. All of the key items of that yellow car looked right for it to be the real deal.
Anyways - once again, congrats on the sale and maybe see you at fall jefferson.
Mark
