Have been reading stuff here for a while and decided to finally join up. Wanted to mention that the assembly manual shows how the bezel tabs get trimmed off for the T83 hide-aways, so this may help support the statements that there was only one grille for both versions.
I have this option on my 68 Caprice so would be glad to help answer any other questions.
