Hello all, well I sold my 69 327 sport hardtop a few months ago and have been halfway looking at 69 convertibles because I just love the 69 body style. I knew a convertible was in my reach, but I'd never thought I'd be able to get an SS427. But patience paid off and now I have one...again I THINK.
I've read this site probably 100 times over the last few years, so I know that the 69 SS427 can be faked. So maybe I have a fake one, because I do not have any real documentation. Just the second and third owners words. The SS's are in the correct place, but they look a little crooked to me. The car has been repainted though so maybe thats why. The car is highly optioned, and has a power bench seat. I know SS's can have bench seats, even though many so called enthusiats dont believe that.
To be honest, I dont even care if it is a fake, especially for what I paid for it. It would be nice to know for sure, but I'm so tickled to have a 69 convertible with a big block, power windows/locks/seat, A/C, cruise, remote trunk release and so on that I'm good even if it isnt.
I'm sure you guys can figure out where it came from. I had seen this car for many months on the cars-on-line site and it was far out of my reach. Now it's in my garage. Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself again. I posted about a years ago when I was putting some wheels on my 69 sport and nobody responded lol. Hopefully a few people will read this one.
