Hello everyone I, just joined this site after a long time thinking about my ol' 69 SS427 Impala.
I traded a friend my 71 GTX for it in 1979. But the Impala was no stranger to me then.
The first time I saw her was 1976, sitting in the friends fathers dirt floor garage (more like a shed)he had bought the car from 1st owner after the engine blew, although it was running ,with a small block, it had a dead battery,flat tires and very dirty. I was only 16 at the time and really did not know how rare it was and besides when my father saw the car he refused to front the money so I forgot about it and bought a Pontiac instead for my first ride.
Then in 79 shortly after talking his father out of the impala and to my surprise my friend offered it to me in trade and I jumped at it.
I replaced the 350 with a 427 I bought that came from a 69 impala police car(390 h.p.)
Have to get on a plane boarding now so I'll continue later.
