A little off topic but I am curious. Why is the LS5 rated at 390 hp for Full size Chev and Corvette, but 365hp in a Chevelle? I thought they were exactly the same engines. Also how does the 1970 LS5 compare with the 1969 L36? Both are rated at 390 hp in an Impala, and I think the torque figures are close to the same. I would think the extra 27 cubic inches would mean an extra 23 horsepower if the engine configuration was the same? Thanks to anyone who can set me straight on this one. By the way, there is an awful nice 1970 LS5 Impala Custom on Ebay right now.
