Want to lose lots of money??? Get married, get drunk at Vegas, or get a Murray mower.
Murray use to make bicycles, couldn't compete with China. Use to make mowers, couldn't compete with MTD. Ended up owing Briggs & Stratton $40 Million. B & S now has the Murray parts business, but parts are becoming NLA. Twin B & S engine is dying real quick too, they tend to pop valve seats.
Want to buy the little gear on the steering shaft? Can't do, the whole thing is welded and you have to buy the complete front axle. Want to buy bearings? Not from Murray, you have to buy the whole assy. Belt jumps off?? The pulley is wobbly, the lever that tightens the pulley is worn, the housing that the lever fits into is junk, and it never ends.
This is what I see all the time. I don't work on them ( why shoot myself in the foot? ) but I can supply parts and the parts aren't real expensive either. Murray parts are not on line, and all I have is Micro-fische so no way to get a hard copy to you. Get me some mower numbers and I will see what I can do. There was also some aftermarket parts available but remember, Murray made thousands of different models!
