I have a Snapper rider that the drive had been slipping particularly in turns. I replaced the rubber drive wheel and made a few passes with no slippage. Then yesterday I started mowing the grass again and the Snapper ran several passes without slipping and then it started slipping until it would not move.
I flipped the mower up and checked the drive wheel again - even took it off and made sure there was no grease etc. on the mechanisms.
I did notice that the nylon bushings in the clutch bar were worn and had flat spots. I moved the bushings around some and started the mower up and again it would not move in any gear forward or reverse.
Then I rocked the gear shift and the mower a little bit and let the clutch/brake in and out several times and the mower took off and I used it about two hours with absolutely no slippage at all. Being a Murphy man I know that it is going to happen again. Any ideas??
