that she lost the phone....That means that the SIM card is gone as well.
If she had the SIM card it should be a matter of just slipping the card out of one phone and into another....
I use the T-mobile pre-paid service as my back-up phone and I have swapped the SIM card into many different phones over the years with no issue.
I have an older t-mobile/Siemens CF62T GSM phone that I can part with cheap if you need it(I have 3).
